The Dolomites, Italy

Wow! The scenery on this leg of my epic European road trip really was something extraordinary!

I stayed in the South Tyrol region of the Dolomites, at Camping Sass Dlacia, which I highly recommend. The site itself was situated in a valley with walks leading directly from the campground in all directions. I hiked up to Lago Lagazuoi - See. It was a pretty strenuous climb, but so worth it when you get to the lake at the top. The hike continues beyond the lake, but you'll need some pretty specialist equipment if you want to continue upwards!
