Beautiful Slovenia

As part of my epic road trip in the summer of 2023 (check out the Italian Dolomite's leg ***here***), I spent just over a week in what I now know to be one of the most beautiful European countries I have ever had the privilege to visit - Slovenia.

Sandwiched between Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia, Slovenia is often overlooked, or worse, not even considered when planning European road trips.  However, I urge anyone and everyone to venture into this gem of a country in the Balkan region.  I was travelling in my rented camper van, and despite the record braking floods they'd endured during the days before my arrival over the border, the roads were in fantastic order and very easy to navigate.  The Slovenian people I met along the way were some of the nicest individuals I have had the pleasure of encountering on my travels.  Despite my complete lack of Slovenian (aside from the few random expressions I'd picked up on Duolingo!), they were particularly welcoming and eager to encourage more and more visitors to their beautiful country.  

Honestly, if you have the opportunity to visit - take it!
